Key Responsibilities (As a Contractor):

• Provide direct support and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), tailored to individual needs and goals.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders/administration (with proper training), and household management tasks as outlined in the individual's service plan.
• Facilitate community integration by accompanying individuals to appointments, social outings, recreational activities, and employment opportunities.
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining life skills, including communication, social skills, self-advocacy, and problem-solving.
• Implement individualized service plans (ISPs), behavioral support plans (BSPs), and other therapeutic interventions as directed.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of services provided, observations, and progress notes using our designated electronic system.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual at all times, responding appropriately to emergencies and reporting incidents promptly.
• Foster a respectful, positive, and empowering environment that promotes dignity and personal choice.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, family members, Empowering Lives Inc. staff, and other service providers.
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, ethical guidelines, and company policies as an independent contractor.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable experience providing direct support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or similar populations.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
• Ability to pass comprehensive background checks, including criminal history, fingerprinting, and abuse registries.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in basic computer use for documentation.
• Patience, empathy, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping others.
• Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and capable of fulfilling the requirements of an independent contractor (e.g., managing your own taxes, business expenses).:
