Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The ideal candidate will assist clients in their daily activities, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life. This role requires a strong commitment to care, patience, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Support individuals in social activities and community engagement.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Perform basic health checks, including taking vital signs.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document daily activities and any changes in client behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop care plans.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or social work is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid is a plus.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a safe environment.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
